2021 Lexus ES 350

We could talk about exceptional engineering, unquestionable reliability, and their ability to find the exact balance between luxury and practicality. But if you had to use just one word to describe Lexus, it would be refinement. The 2021 Lexus ES 350 is a paragon of refinement. With any of its three available powertrains, it provides the power, amenities, and incredibly smooth ride that inspire extended road trips. With assistive technology and practical, button-based controls, it makes running around town equally pleasurable.

Basics About the 2021 Lexus ES 350

To discuss Lexus’s approach to refinement, we must consider that the ES was Lexus’s first vehicle. It debuted in 1989 along with the Lexus name. To this day, it remains a mid-sized, front-wheel drive luxury sedan aimed at the U.S. market. Lexus put a startling amount of research into exactly what American buyers wanted in a luxury vehicle. The ES they produced hit all the right notes and quickly started outselling “traditional” European luxury brands.

Trim Levels and Pricing

The 2021 ES is the third iteration of the ES’s sixth generation, which debuted in the 2019 model year. It is available in four trim levels: Base, Luxury, F Sport, and Ultra Luxury. The base level is already an exceptional luxury sedan. It is priced at MSRP $41,025. The top level Ultra Luxury with all the goodies including all leather interior, speed cruise control, heated/vented front seats, and the exceptional Mark Levinson sound system lands right around $55,000.

Engine and Powertrain

Lexus badges the ES according to engine size (i.e. the ES 250 has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine; the ES 300h is a hybrid). The ES 350 features a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that makes 302 horsepower. It delivers this to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Flooring the accelerator can get you from zero to  60 mph in about 6.1 seconds. This is great for freeway onramps and passing. But the powertrain’s real specialty is buttery smooth cruising.

New Features for 2021

Features added to the entire ES lineup include blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts. These are standard on the ES 350, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport trim levels. The Black Line Special Sport edition of the ES 350 is new for 2021. It features a trunk lip spoiler, blacked-out exterior details, a white interior, and comes with matching luggage. It also has larger wheels and the suspension is performance tuned for a slightly stiffer demeanor.

Inside the Cabin

Lexus worked its “just right” magic on the interior. The dashboard has a unique, but understated asymmetric line to it. Leather, brushed metal, and wood are key trim features. Even the non-leather surfaces feel exceptional. Though technology drives many of the car’s active features, most of the controls use physical buttons rather than the touch screen. This includes stereo controls, seat adjustments, and even drive modes. Rear seats fit the tall and the trunk holds two golf bags.

The bottom line is that the ES 350 is pure Lexus. It doesn’t matter whether you value engineering, reliability, or luxury the most. Lexus has refined all three in this sedan. Then they package it with the engine you need to get there quickly or just enjoy the delightfully smooth drive. Contact Lexus of Wilmington today to try one out for yourself.
